Ca regula generala, punem “the” atunci cand stim ceva despre substantiv sau cand substantivul a fost mentionat anterior in conversatie. Ideea este ca eu stiu despre care anume substantiv (de fapt ceea ce denumeste acel substantiv) este vorba.
NU punem “the” atunci cand vorbim despre lucruri in general sau cand sunt implicate notiuni abstracte.
