Sadie by Courtney Summers
I read this book recently and I can say that it made me think about a lot of things.
First, it's a book about a girl named Sadie and her dead sister, Maddie. The book is told from two different story tellers: Sadie, who tells the story from a couple of months from the present, and West McCray, a podcast host, who helps us understand the story better.
The story begins after Maddie's death, which destroys Sadie. Sadie and Maddie lived with a friend of their dead grandmother, named May Beth. Their mother, Claire, was a drug addict and wasn't really a mother for the girls, and even when she was, she preffered Maddie over Sadie. When Sadie finds out that Maddie was murdered and the police seems to not have any other proof of the killer, she decides to go and find the killer herself because she has the feeling that she knows who it is.
Second, the part of the book that is in the podcast is presented by West McCray, who is called by May Beth. She asks for help beacause she knows that he cares about this kind of situations. May Beth was actually looking for Sadie beacause, as she said "she couldn't stand another dead girl". West agrees to search for Sadie and the book continues with the both story tellers. Sadie is very brave along the book and West McCray seems to understand her steps and anticipate the other ones.
Finally, West finds the place where Sadie was last seen, the place where Sadie killed the murderer of her sister, but no one knows if Sadie is, or is not alive.
