In 1620 a new country called New England was populated by the Europeans. In 1776, a war began, the American colonies against England for freedom and because the Americans won, the USA, was born who also became the birthday of America and after 1776, new states were added and today there are fifty states. George Washington was the first President. The USA flag represents the first states, the stars represents the number of states. Most Government buildings are placed beside the Capital, where the congress meets and the White House, the home of the President. Washington has many monuments that represents the three very great presidents. The city's parks are famous and they are visited when they bloom for their beauty and the Japanese cherry-trees which was a gift from Japan long ago.
